How Our Rural Energy and Renewables Service Works
We help rural landowners assess renewable energy opportunities, respond to developer approaches and negotiate agreements that deliver fair value while protecting the wider estate over the long term.
STEP 1
Assessing the opportunity
We assess your land with a clear understanding of what developers and operators are looking for, including location, grid proximity, access and how the site is currently farmed. This helps establish whether there is a genuine opportunity or simply a speculative approach.
STEP 2
Reviewing the approach
When a developer makes contact, we review what is being proposed and advise whether it is worth pursuing. The first offer is rarely the best, and an early option agreement can tie up your land for years on terms that do not properly reflect its value.
STEP 3
Negotiating the agreement
We negotiate the option, lease or easement in your interests, covering rent and review mechanisms, the agreement term, break provisions, access, reinstatement and protection of the remaining land. The detail determines whether the deal still works for you a decade from now, not only today.
STEP 4
Ongoing management
Once an agreement is in place, we can manage it throughout its life, handling rent reviews, lease events and the relationship with the operator so your interests remain protected while the scheme is operational.
